  1. More importantly, this poll made me realize that not remembering Hopper’s character in Apocalypse Now means that it’s been way too long since I’ve seen that movie.

  2. Answer the damn questions!
And yes, you must see Apocalypse Now again. You must also see There Will Be Blood. Then you must consider which is the more existential of the two films.

  3. I tend to shy away from calling people crazy for their religious beliefs. I’ve got a lot of good friends who believe that God takes a personal hand in their lives, and I don’t think they’re crazy.
Is there some other reason that Huckabee’s crazy? I hear he wants the federal government to take a bigger hand in regulating public school food choices–is that what you’re talking about?

  4. I find him nuts for the same reason that George F. Will does not trust him with nukes (thanks for that article, btw).

  5. My own petard! I am hoist in it!
…fair enough. I guess I can’t argue against you and George F. Will.
Still, there are a lot of people with religious beliefs that seem irrational–I’m unwilling to label them all crazy, but can’t find any rational path to their conclusions. I guess I’ve built up a “religious exemption” in my mind for crazy ideas.

  6. at least he’s not a raving white supremacist like Ron Paul. Jesus, what a choice; the looney minister who doesn’t believe in Evolution or the Texas whacko who hates all the coloreds.
